How to Repair a Small Puncture in Your Fliteboard Air

Before you begin, ensure you have the supplied puncture repair kit included with your board.

What You'll Need

  • Supplied puncture repair kit (patch)
  • Clean cloth or paper towel
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • PVC glue
  • Bowl of soapy water (for locating the puncture)
  • Marker pen

Step 1: Locate the Puncture

  1. Inflate the board to normal pressure.
  2. Mix a small amount of dish soap with water and apply it to the suspected area using a cloth or sponge.
  3. Look for bubbles forming, this identifies the exact puncture location.
  4. Mark the spot with a pen and deflate the board completely before proceeding.

Step 2: Prepare the Surface

  1. Ensure the area around the puncture is clean and dry.
  2. Wipe away any dirt, salt, or residue with a clean cloth.
  3. Prepare the surface with a thorough clean with Isopropyl alcohol
  4. Allow the surface to dry fully,do not proceed on a damp surface.

Step 3: Apply the Patch

  1. Select the appropriate patch size from the kit it should overlap the puncture by at least 1–2 cm on all sides.
  2. Apply the adhesive evenly to the patch and/or the board surface.
  3. Wait for the adhesive to become tacky, typically 2-3 minutes.
  4. Press the patch firmly onto the puncture site, working from the centre outward to remove any air bubbles.
  5. Apply firm pressure for at least 2 minutes.

Step 4: Allow to Cure

  1. Leave the patch to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before inflating.
  2. Do not fold or store the board over the patch area during this time.

Step 5: Test the Repair

  1. Inflate the board and re-apply soapy water over the patch. Max 16 PSI
  2. Check for any bubbles indicating air escape.
  3. If bubbles are present, deflate and contact Fliteboard support - do not attempt a second patch on top.
