Before you begin, ensure you have the supplied puncture repair kit included with your board.
What You'll Need
- Supplied puncture repair kit (patch)
- Clean cloth or paper towel
- Isopropyl alcohol
- PVC glue
- Bowl of soapy water (for locating the puncture)
- Marker pen
Step 1: Locate the Puncture
- Inflate the board to normal pressure.
- Mix a small amount of dish soap with water and apply it to the suspected area using a cloth or sponge.
- Look for bubbles forming, this identifies the exact puncture location.
- Mark the spot with a pen and deflate the board completely before proceeding.
Step 2: Prepare the Surface
- Ensure the area around the puncture is clean and dry.
- Wipe away any dirt, salt, or residue with a clean cloth.
- Prepare the surface with a thorough clean with Isopropyl alcohol
- Allow the surface to dry fully,do not proceed on a damp surface.
Step 3: Apply the Patch
- Select the appropriate patch size from the kit it should overlap the puncture by at least 1–2 cm on all sides.
- Apply the adhesive evenly to the patch and/or the board surface.
- Wait for the adhesive to become tacky, typically 2-3 minutes.
- Press the patch firmly onto the puncture site, working from the centre outward to remove any air bubbles.
- Apply firm pressure for at least 2 minutes.
Step 4: Allow to Cure
- Leave the patch to cure for a minimum of 24 hours before inflating.
- Do not fold or store the board over the patch area during this time.
Step 5: Test the Repair
- Inflate the board and re-apply soapy water over the patch. Max 16 PSI
- Check for any bubbles indicating air escape.
- If bubbles are present, deflate and contact Fliteboard support - do not attempt a second patch on top.
